To provide professionals with an understanding of Safer Recruitment and how to develop policy, procedures and practice in their own organisations that meet statutory requirements for services working with children.
At the end of the one-day course, participants will be able to:
- identify the key features of staff recruitment that help to deter or prevent the appointment of unsuitable people
- consider policies and practices that minimise opportunities for abuse and ensure its prompt reporting
- begin to review their own and their organisation’s policies and practice with a view to making them safer.
Our course facilitator, Lisa Brett, is an accredited Safer Recruitment Trainer, registered with the Safer Recruitment Consortium. Only registered trainers are authorised to deliver this workshop and complete the associated learning assessment on behalf of the Safer Recruitment Consortium.
The content of the course and supporting course materials have been created by the Safer Recruitment Consortium meeting the expectations and requirements of Statutory Guidance on Safer Recruitment. The workshop takes the participants through the Safer Recruitment Consortium’s essential training modules on: Safer recruitment, safer recruitment process, making the right decisions, and the ongoing culture of vigilance.
Learning is supported by a comprehensive workbook providing full guidance and advice on Safer Recruitment, with copies of presentation slides.
Delegates will be assessed on their knowledge and understanding of Safer Recruitment.
The One-day Safer Recruitment Training costs £250 per person.
